GS300 VIP v1.0 [Public]

After having received quite a lot of positive feedback and people wanting to try out the car used in our DRIFTSHOW 2010 movie, we've decided to put it up on public for people to download! :)

Installing it is simple, just make sure you have your assets_p.dat extracted and then simply drag and drop the files provided in archive to each folder.

EDIT:

A quick tutorial on how to install this:
  1. Download this tool: http://www.mediafire.com/?58y00r4ba3y114d (credits go to LV Volk), put the ar_extract.exe you'll find inside to your MC2 directory.
  2. Drag and drop your assets_p.dat on ar_extract.exe, it will start extracting.
  3. Once it's done you can delete assets_p.dat, after extraction your assets_p files will be placed in a folder, make sure you take the files from there and put them to your MC2 directory, your game folder should now look something like this: http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/6119/mc2folder.jpg
  4. Replace your mc2.exe with this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?ximhzana35gheum
  5. You can now replace the car files.
  6. Get a complete savegame either by completing the game yourself, downloading a complete savegame, or entering a cheatcode "rimbuk" in the cheatcode section found in MC2 Options.
  7. Look for Lusso XT, that's the car you have replaced.
  8. Enjoy!
We would appreciate if you could spread the word about our blogspot! :)

EDIT #2:

Known bugs:
  • The car often flips on sidewalks at high framerates, it is recommended to play at 60-100 fps.

DRIFTSHOW 2010

Hello world! We're proud to present you our yet another team movie! This time GS300 VIP drifting style!

It all started back in 2010, when we were at what you could call today, the JTX peak. We had so many ideas and projects going on, that we didn't even know where to start. Only a tiny bit made it to the surface today. For instance, the JTX Garage was supposed to be a part of our Wangan Midnight project, as a part of it, the Lusso XT used in this video was actually being tuned for high speed highway racing. After a little bit of tweaking we noticed that it had a decent potential in drifting, and we took it out on the track. Not too long after that I came up with an idea to make a short trailer/preview-like video. We basically shot the footage and just moved on with the rest of the project. The clips were left untouched for years, highly compressed and stored in archives, uploaded, redownloaded multiple times (that's the reason some clips have artifacts). Recently, I decided to give it another shot as my team just couldn't give up the idea. And here's the result! :)

[Software]
  • Fraps
  • VirtualDub
  • Audacity
  • Adobe After Effects CS5.5

[Soundtracks]
  • Royce da 5' 9" - Dope
  • Bachelors Of Science - Bounce
  • Maztek - Breakdown VIP

Special thanks to LV Volk for providing animation tools.

Any kind of feedback is highly appreciated!
